Hi Guys!
I know, I know, I left you guys and vanished (you actually deserve a life update and maybe then you’ll understand why I have been MAI). Anyways, that’s not my reason for coming on here today. Today I bring to you another thrift haul!
You all seemed to love the first one I did, so I decided to do another! You probably read the title and thought to yourself, “How is this even possible?” and my answer to that is “na mumu dey go boutique!😂” I’ll just like to apologize for my behavior I must think I’m some sort of comedian because I’m out here cracking jokes and not giving you the information you came for, so without wasting your time, lets get into the haul!
Like I do with most of my clothing content, I’ll be sectioning all the clothing items I got into different segments to help you navigate easily.
BOTTOMS
Did you really go thrift shopping if you didn’t get trousers or jeans at a steal? If you haven’t, I suggest you start doing that now. This time around I picked not one, not two but four different pair of bottoms. I wanted shorts but I couldn’t find any in my size so I bought a pair of jean trousers and cut them to shorts, it didn’t come out the way I wanted but on the bright side, I still got shorts right😂? This cost me about ₦1000 (cutting and sewing inclusive). I also got two pair of jeans; a regular pair and another unhemmed pair, nothing so extra about them except the fact that they make me look good😎. They both cost a thousand Naira (₦1000) respectively. I saved the best for last because I think I got this stripped pants for a steal! I mean look at it! It’s very different and maybe that’s why I like it, I honestly can’t wait to style it (expect a video on my Instagram), did I mention I got it for ₦1000! At this point its save to say I got all my bottoms for ₦1000 so that equals to ₦4000.
TOPS
I didn’t really get as much tops/shirts as I would have loved but I just couldn’t find something really “amazing”. I managed to get two shirts and that was about it, I got a black long sleeve shirt which cost ₦800 and a white short sleeve shirt which cost ₦1000. From what you can see, they are pretty basic, which means they are pretty to style, so it’s a win if you ask me.
DRESSES
My favorite section; I got two dresses and I’m actually quite happy about these items, picked up this black dress from ZARA and didn’t even want to drop it down (even with all the amendments that needed to be done). I also got a green dress that right out the bat reminded me about how teachers used to dress when I was in primary school or in Nigerian movie scenes, I removed the shoulder pad (yes, you read right, shoulder pads) and it became wearable again. These dresses were the most expensive things I bought and if I’m being honest I think I was cheated, I got the black dress for ₦1500 because of the problems that came with it and the green dress for ₦2000.
ACCESSORIES
On my way out of the market I saw these guys that sell sunglasses on wheel barrows and saw a simple round frame black sunglasses and priced it down to ₦300 (I’m truly my mother’s daughter) and wore it on my way back because of how hot the sun was on that day (I still have tan lines to show for it).
If you’ll like to shop where I shopped then I got you! For now, I only have information for Abuja residents (If you in any other area and you want me to help you find out, please let me know in the comment section), The market is called Karimo Market, its a regular market that sells food and other things but they sell thrift items every Tuesdays and Friday. I’ll also advice that you wear sunscreen when going because the sun is a tad bit extra.
Let me know what you think about my purchases, I’ll love to hear from you! Also, thank you for sticking with my inconsistent self, love you a whole lot! Expect more from me!
-Chika ❤
