The dream for 25 was to live in my 2 bedroom apartment, with large windows and an Afrocentric decor. Using the second room as a walk in closet and work space, hosting my family and friends biweekly, and earning a good amount of money that can sustain my way too expensive taste. An apartment not so far from family so I could go in for regular food, laughter and annoying my siblings. But I turn 25 in another continent, 4600 miles away from home.
You probably read that and thought, “I hope Chika is alright” and I can assure your girl is very fine. I am excited and grateful to be turning 25.
The age 25 has just always had a ring to it, it sounds so grown and mature, and I am channelling that in my theme this year. I have just felt that whenever I turned 25 something in the universe would click and I everything would align in my favour and I really really feel that’ll happen.
I finally feel like I am on the right track, chasing a career in digital marketing that allows me express my creativity while helping brands and organizations. I have become more independent and confident in my self and have an calm approach to life.
I really hope this year starts with door opening opportunities, links and networks with the right people and more discipline to get the work when these opportunities come.
