A Style Guide to Look Your Best This Christmas – 8 Outfit Ideas For Ladies.

Hey guys!

If you clicked this link really fast (or slow, I’m not judging) you probably haven’t decided what you want to wear for Christmas or maybe you know what to wear but you feel you could do better or you’re just like me and you click every and anything related to fashion or style. If it’s any of these scenarios then you’ve come to the right place!

Deciding what to wear can be a total drag, believe me I’m ALWAYS there, that’s why I decided to write this blog post. to help you and definitely help myself. For this post I have decided to split them into different categories so you will be able to pick the style option that suits you. Without blabbing too much, here is the list of the outfits.

Casual Style

Dressing up casually is by far the easiest way to go, especially if you’re not looking to update your wardrobe or get something new. The good thing about casual dressing is that you most likely have these pieces in your closet. A good example would be a free/ loose fitting black dress or even a pair of cotton wide leg pants, or even jeans. Still confused? Here are some examples!

Chic Style

I like to think that people with a chic fashion sense are people who love dressing casually with a bit of spice. If you want to know if you fall under this category ask yourself this quick questions: What kind of fabric am I usually drawn to? Do I splurge on bags and shoes? If I decide to show skin, how much do I show? If your answers to these fell in the line of; I really love chiffon, satin and silk. Bags and shoes can never be enough! or I don’t really show so much skin, but I love my legs, shoulders and even my back to show in some cases, then you my friend might just have a chic style. I know these aren’t all the questions to determine this, and that’s why I have some examples below.

Conservative Style

If going to church for Christmas is part of you plans then this is the style you’ll most likely be going in. Conservative style also known as modest fashion is the type of style covers most part of you skin, leaving just the right amount. With this style you basically cover up and for the most part show just your legs and arms. I have gone ahead to show you a few of this style option;

Girly Style

There’s a high chance that this is your style and if it isn’t you know someone that does (I know for a fact that I do). This style includes floral prints, pearls, heels, and every thing the “ideal girl” would wear. Although I like to mix some form of masculinity in a few of my outfits (if not most), I also reach to feminine clothes from time to time (if I’m being honest, most of my outfits for Christmas are REALLY feminine). Some examples of outfits that fall under this category are;

Luxury Style

This style is for my Odogwus, my rich mamas, my “I have the money and I know how to spend it type of babes. I honestly aspire to be this kind of babs. This type of style is a cut out of chic with extra ego (money in Igbo). People with this kind of style always make it known that what they are carrying is not your mate (whether concealed or exaggerated). Some examples of outfits with this style are down below (saving them to my mood board and vision board now 😉😂)

Minimalist Style

This style is very simple, it usually consist of basic style pieces (your basics) and a color pallet. You would find that colors in the neutral pallet are what makes this style, so colors like beige, brown, grey, white, and sometimes even black. If you have this style you probably find it easy to get ready and pick out outfits. If you need an example on how to dress minimalist here are some;

Trendy Style

People that have this style “don’t really have a style”. They typically wear what ever the new rave is about, and I’m in no way shading them because we all do this once in a while. They follow a lot of style bloggers or Instagram baddies and pick the reoccurring ones when deciding what to buy. So they can be goth today, and girly tomorrow and in the next week they want to dress like a princess. Right now the ruched slit dresses and skirts are in so you’ll definitely be seeing a lot of that on Instagram and that’s perfectly fine! If you are one of these people then here are some example;

Tomboy Style

One of my personal fav styles! I actually love everything about this style, you probably do too. From to tailored cut trousers, to the sneakers, to the comfort! This is very much my speed. Still looking to get well tailored pants and high quality sneakers and a lot of graphic tees. If you do not want to be in a dress this Christmas, then this style is definitely for you. Zendaya is a master when it comes to this style, she has embodied it so well that she looks great EVERY time she’s dressed that way.

Bonus: Lazy/Stay at Home Style

If we’re being honest A LOT of us are going to be sitting down on our beds binging Christmas Movies and I’m not even going to judge you. Because, who has the time to start dressing up when you are not going out. Bellow are cute outfit choices that can be worn at home and out (incase someone invites you to an impromptu outing).

I hope these style options were able to give you an insight on what to wear for Christmas this year, Because after writing this post I’m tempted to get another outfit – a pant suit! Especially the all black one.

After reading to this point I have some questions for you. Were you inspired on what to wear for Christmas? What style category do you think I fall under? What style category do you fall under? Will you be celebrating Christmas this year? Did I miss any style option? Let me know in the comment section! I love reading your comments.

I do not own all the pictures in this post, all the pictures were gotten from Pinterest
