5 Nigerian Owned Clothing Brands on My Wishlist.

Hey guys!

You’re probably reading this post and thinking, “so she’s just going to upload a new blogpost without addressing why she didn’t post last week?” Well, you’re right! I’m not🤫. Let’s just agree that this is my post for last week😅.

Enough talking, let’s get into today’s blogpost. I’ll be talking about 5 Nigerian brands I’m currently in love with and I’ll be showing a few pieces from the brand that are on my “purchase list”.

1. Iwade Brand:

The first on my list is the Iwade brand. Like the brand says, it focuses on ready to wear pieces for women. I personally love how simple their designs are and how easy they are to style. Describing their pieces in two words I’ll say “simple and minimalist”. For the sake of this post I’ll be showing you some of my favorites from them.

2. A.Au by Asiyami Gold

I’ve been following Asiyami Gold for about a year now and that’s because I love how aesthetically pleasing she makes her life look. If you don’t believe me check out her Instagram page and tell me what you think. She’s also into fashion and has gone ahead to own a clothing brand – A.Au. One thing I noticed about this brand is how much they love dramatic sleeves and fabrics not to mention the fact that they do this effortlessly without ODing it.

3. Imad Eduso

This brand describes themselves as a brand that makes sophisticated, vibrant and functional pieces for the modern day woman and I couldn’t agree more, when they say vibrant, they mean vibrant. I fell in love with their color choices, from the rich purple to the vibrant orange. I definitely won’t say no if I was offered any of their pieces. I mean, both Chimamanda Adichie and Lupita Nyongo wore pieces from them. If that’s not convincing I don’t know what is.

4. Andrea Iyamah

I love this brand so much, I’m even subscribed to their mailing list. If I was asked to describe this brand I’ll say “free with a hint of sexy”. I’m sure when they go fabric shopping they ask for the most free material😂. Some, if not most of their pieces are so easy to style, be it laid back chilling with the girls or dressed up going on a date, this brand is IT.

5. Clan

Found this brand from Onyii Bekeh, on her recent editorial for Glam Africa and I decided to check them out. Their pieces are “different” to an extent, not the regular designs you’ll see in every store. Their fabrics also look more modern as opposed to other brands. You should definitely check them out and tell me what you think.

That brings me to the end of today’s blog post. I really enjoyed writing this and looking through all the brands. Nigerian women are creative and can’t wait to get my hands on one or two pieces from all the brands mentioned.

Which of the brands are your favorites? Are you adding some to your wishlist? Are my chioces predictable or weird? Please let me know in the comment section.

Stay safe,

Chika ❤️
